GIGS AND COVID-19

Alright people let's chat. Throughout the midst of this national emergency, it is important to remember some important information. The Corona virus is a very real and scary disease that is causing a lot of businesses to cancel events, close their doors to the public, and act out of fear of contracting the virus.

Cancelling a gig on you or you cancelling a gig on them is not the end of the world. I understand how serious it is financially for artists to make the necessary cash to keep them a float. Especially during this time when income may be at a halt. Do your absolute best to remain calm and take this one day at a time. I have had three gigs cancelled on me already. I am not one to cancel a gig myself unless I feel it absolutely crucial. That being said, I am taking precautions when I do perform to keep myself safe from contracting Corona Virus.

1.) WASH YOUR HANDS! This is what everybody keeps telling us and it should be something we practice anyway. You are touching surfaces, sound boards, equipment that others have touched, etc. If you have the luxury of having sanitary wipes, please wipe down microphones, knobs, buttons, etc.

2.) BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! You will be receiving tips and and payment in cash form or check. Make sure you wash your hands after handling these items. If you use the bathroom at a venue, make sure you are doing everything in your power to remain clean.

3.). BE CONSIDERATE! If somebody doesn't want to shake your hand or patrons seem a bit stand offish, just let it be. Who cares.

This will all pass soon! You can go back to being however you are at your gigs, or just going to your gigs period!

Stay safe!
